Things to think about

Think true thoughts.

Let’s face it. Thinking true thoughts about ourselves is something we as girls struggle with… in a society that sets unrealistic – and often unhealthy – appearance ideals… in a world that blurs the line between femininity and masculinity… and in a culture where living a life pleasing to God is anything but the norm.

Daily, we must work hard to keep the right perspective –

  1. About ourselves
  2. About others
  3. About the world

OURSELVES It’s easy to become discontent with the person God has made us to be or confused with our purpose. OTHERS It’s easy to slip into the comparison trap and try to be someone we’re not. THE WORLD It’s easy to worry and wonder how God can work good through the tragedies and problems unfolding on the news.

These areas can be constant battlegrounds for our thought lives. And we can’t win the battle alone. We need help from God’s Word and from our godly friends to help us fix our thoughts where they need to be.

That’s what Think True Thoughts is all about. It’s a place where teen girls, their friends, their mothers and their mentors can come and find a respite from the battle. A place they can find refreshment among friends who face the same challenges they do. A place they can recharge to face whatever their days may bring.

Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise.

That’s a tall order, but if we can learn to run our thoughts through the Philippians 4:8 filter, we will be well on our way to thinking thoughts and leading lives pleasing to God.

I’m glad you’ve joined us on this adventure.
